I've spent much of my career working in higher education, both producing educational resources and assisting and enabling others to create their own. The following examples demonstrate the diversity of experience I've had in creating educational media, as well as promotional material for academic institutions.
"APA Citation Overview"
Patten University / New Charter University

Roles: Producer, Writer, Motion Graphics, Editing, Voice-Over
(Graphics created in Photoshop and After Effects)
"MBA Environmental Scanning"

Course Covers
Patten University / New Charter University

Course Covers were short "hook" videos for online courses at Patten University and New Charter University. These videos were designed to get students excited, and kick the course off with something fun.
"Intro to Physics - Course Cover"
Roles: Producer, Writer, Videographer, Voice-over

Our team played around with ideas for how we could execute the idea of motion being interrupted, and showcase the various forces and other physics concepts involved. The talent in this video is one of the Media Team's video editors, Jamie Kruse. (editing and graphics by Nanako Pierce. Shot on SONY NEX-FS100U)
"International Business - Course Cover"
Roles: Producer, Writer, Stop-Motion Animation, Voice-Over

To add variety to our videos, we decided on the idea of doing hand-made stop-motion animation. (editing by Nanako Pierce)
Video Field Trips
Patten University / New Charter University

Roles: Producer, Writer, Videographer, Voice-Over

These course covers are parts of larger projects where we developed video "field trips" inspired by segments our team grew up with on programs like Reading Rainbow and Bill Nye The Science Guy. The goal was to provide students real-world examples of the concepts they studied within the course. I was in charge of researching, and securing and scheduling tours and interviews with local companies of various size and production approaches.

"Web Conferencing in Higher Ed"
Smith College

Roles: Videographer, Motion Graphics, Editing

At Smith College I am part of a team dedicated to supporting pedagogical use of technology across campus, and that included promoting and encouraging use of new tools. At the time of this video, Zoom was relatively unknown on campus, and Skype was still the default web-conferencing tool. This video was created as a way to showcase the different use cases for web-conferencing tools in an educational context. (Produced and Directed by Kate Lee. Shot on JVC GY-LS300)
"Here's My Library"
Smith College
Roles: Director, Videographer, Motion Graphics, Screen Capture, Editing

Smith College's main library began renovations and this created significant changes to the operations of the libraries across campus. This video was a challenging to produce due to being needed on short notice, but also done over the summer with limited student presence on campus. (Shot on Canon 60D)
"SmithScape"
Smith College
Roles: Producer, Motion Graphics, Editing,

Library renovations also lead to a change in available study spaces on campus, and an elegant solution was the development of the SmithScape app.

Digital Support Videos
Smith College

Roles: Producer, Writer, Videographer, Voice-Over, Screen Capture, Graphics, Editing

Support of digital media production on campus takes many forms from in-class workshops, one-on-one consultations, documentation and more. These videos were created to address the needs of users learning these processes independently. These videos are produced in a clean style, to be informative yet succinct. They  reference Mac interfaces because those are the computers in our digital media lab.
